No, I'm not getting all gay and sh*t.

go to the "on exibit/photos" section of the site mentioned previously. I'm not the surfer in the photo - I know the east coast well. I know the upper limits of long island, and it tops out about 15-18 foot on the face. But the lighthouse in RI or Ruggles, the Ledge or Block Island blow away all comers just like that juggernaut up in Foxboro run by the madman under the hoodie.

On friday, september 10th 1989 in the evening, a place referred to as "the lighthouse" Rhode Island was 25 - 30 foot on the face with Tavarua-perfect shape, and not even a ripple on the water and the same deep blue color...massive dead glass reeling off for 400 yards, no sections, just freight trains... the locals know what I'm talking about.

I had a total of one… [perfect 3x overhead wave for a quarter of a mile maybe] on my back hand. There were about 30 surfers out there and i saw the best show I ever on the right coast. After I got out I watched a guy just barely make it over a 25 wave set. Surreal. Giant. It was from Hur. Gabrielle Forget all the trash talk. Wes Lane made the cover of surfer on one a massive Ruggle’s bomb just across the bay earlier that day. Kirk Razza had a solid 35 foot face wave. You can see that picture too in the same issue.  You can surf anywhere - [even massive conditions at Mannesquan] on your 6'3." But at Ruggles, you’ll need a real big-wave gun. Look at that photo. Ruggle’s breaks once or twice every year like that - and sees very few takers from anywhere - but a tight crew of local hellmen.

Hood tommy boy, aka schmuck guy- if you get a simple bathymetric (ocean bottom!) map, neither place for these delusional 'sesh's' could occur in Gansett'; even the ledge closes as  a big wall over 12'- Now, Warren Pt. in the L.c. might do it because of radical shoaling and sorry, the Surfer article referred to had the biggest wave 'ever' ridden at Ruggles by Floridian Jeremy Saukel- 10' Hawaiian scale with maybe a 15' face; I know- I had to duck dive it!

I believe the clinical diagnoses for Mr. Tom would be self, imposed ego trip and highly delusional; because several compassionate soul surfers tried to let him down 'lightly', they should be commended. If he sought help, surfing might be very therapeautic, but my analysis concludes Tom can't swim, surf, or talk to his grandma.  Tom's initial sessions should be restricted to wave pools and stop the yarning on this legitimate venue for wave-riding communicants.

Dr. Phils diagnosis on Tom was strictly  a buyest and un professional one at best.  I read Tom's last message, and found it quite modest and serene. What he lacks in self Asteem, he makes up for in Honesty.  Phils theory of Tom sticking to wave pools was a useless attempt at pissing Tom off and it failed miserably.  Personally, Dr. Phil and Algore are gay lovers, and guys?  Being Homo's is fine in todays culture.  But you need to cum.....I mean Come out of the closet. !!!!!

Dr. Laura/Tums/Boy George, whatever- If it so necessary for so many of your personalities to be exhibited on this forum, it's obvious you (you's) feel a need to return to the womb (tube-riding) as we all do; it's ok to express yourself, but be legitimate, after all, young impressionable rippers might be reading!

Why would an individual (no name because it legtimizes illness) need to invade one of the last 'un-dominionated' artforms with infantile pablum? The poor soul can't spell, write, or communicate and will never know the soulful feeling of a Rell Sunn or Duke or Lopez. We're all in this together and humor can be a constructive release, but , you have to have the courage to heal yourself; don't respond... but reflect, and maybe, someday, work for the Surfrider Foundation and become part of the solution, not creating the problem.
