We are trying to make reservations for Maninoa surf camp and can't get anyone.  The lines are always temporarily busy and the cost from the Australian folks was way more than advertised.  I can't seem to get anyone from the USA reps.  Does anyone have any ideas of how to get in touch with the folks at Maninoa.

A mixed bag of reviews here and I must say my experience was a mixed bag also.  I suggest you take your own water or buy it locally bottled, book a time that is not busy anyway and has the best possible surf conditions.  I think the point many are making is that Maninoa advertises as something more than it is when you arrive, that is reinforced by the "harden up" messages from so called hard core surfers.  I bet you all had a beer at either of the two resorts that Maninoa is in between!.
Anyway I also stayed at other places and found them more hard core than Maninoa. And contrary to the hard asses on this post, the palces were harder, less western food, no nightime activities and very much a cultural experience.

If you want to stay at Maninoa surf camp then expect to be dropped in on by the local surf guide. He doesn't even know what it means to take turns, or that the guy on the inside has the right of way.

You will only surf one wave as franny (maninoa local boat driver) only surfs the one wave, and thats all he can surf.

The accomodation only suits surfers that are prepared to rough it.

Samoa is good but if your going to go on a surf trip then go somewhere else, its not a surf trip kind of place, its more of a if you get surf then stoked. If not then enjoy your day anyway.

I stayed at Maninoa, and like someone previously must not have travelled much. Because I think Maninoa is awsome. The people are just so great, all you really need is there, nice and simple, a little beach bar next door with a pool table...i would recommend it

Just got back from samoa.Stayed at Maninoa. It's a real surf camp. Survived the Tsunami and if you are really after waves, this place is the call.English is a second language for the locals but they won't crowd the line up. Great waves.Way cheaper than Fiji.Take that from a Fijian
