Please please please do not go to bond, there are waayyyyy too many asians there and there is no night life. I went to Griffith for a sweet 3 years and loved every second, espec the uni parties. Ie hookers and deviates!
Besides there are at least 30% of the unis students that are Scandinavians. The uni has a great rep for both parties and study. Please choose what is best for you and come to the dark side!"

I'm also looking to study at Bond or Griffith. Should I expect ridiculous crowds and localism all along the GC?

As a former president of Griffith Uni Boardriders i'll tell ya right now that Griffith rocks. I can't and won't comment on the academic side of things between the two Uni's because I haven't been to Bond to study. If you've been to both you can comment, but if you haven't then well how do you know what is best?

As one of the lads that started the Griffith Uni Boardriders Hookers and Deviates Ball back in 1999 it's nice to see it getting a mention here. I can tell you that male or female if you can't pick up there you won't pick up anywhere. Bond haven't got anything like that or like Griffiths Sporting Clubs on campus. (they have tried to copy us every year)
Griffith consistently kicks their arse on and off the field at Uni games and in surfing competitions. In fact Griffith are the current Australian University Surfing Teams and Womens Champions.

Whether you go to Bond or Griffith, you can live on the beach and pretty well get a bus to both. A car is good but not totally necessary at first - there's no parking at Griffith for a start. As for nightlife, man Surfers Paradise is open virtually 24-7 for everything you could need in that regard. There is always something to do on the Goldy.

Griffith Uni boardriders have a sign-on on club sign on day which is week 3 of each semester, Sponsored by the GUGC Student Guild. You'll meet friendly crew who will teach you or maybe even take you surfing. There are competitions and Barbies and heaps of pissups. They love foreign students.
So there you go, sorry it was a bit long but hey comparing these two is like comparing apples and oranges. If you can afford it go to Bond - if you want to have a heap of fun, surf good waves and you think that there is more to the Gold Coast than the Superb(w)ank - come to Griffith.

Don't know if this is out of date/too late, but bond is fantastic. nightlife is the best in australia (as voted by students) to give you an idea (and we all get decent grades) we usually go out tues, thurs, fri, sat nights during the week plus on campus events with free buses to surfers paradise and broadbeach clubs and back plus VIP for most clubs because we go to bond.
It has the highest international population (with students from around the world) and is a hell of a lot classier frankly. its around 8min drive to the beach, and on campus/closeby accommodation means a high social atmosphere.
oh also the girls at bond are fantastic ;)
Id say bond is definitely the better option. you'll have heaps more fun.

Bond is ALOT better however much more expensive. It is closer to the beach, has a much better nightlife, parties every weekend usually to surfers with transport to and from and its study and education is alot better than griffith.
To John aswell...I get high distinctions in most subjects by going to parties and playing heaps of sport at uni. I do hardly any study and compared to grade 12, uni is the easiest work i've ever done.
Uni is the greatest lifestyle on the planet.!
