Hi guys, greetings from Ottawa.  Look up a guy named Evan Walmsley, he works at the Windsurfing-Direct or Windsurfing Kingston shop just off Gardiners Road.  He's a big time windsurfer and surfer, and knows all the breaks.  The sandbanks area is probably the best, especially in the fall when it happens much more often.

Hey folks - I am a newbie surfer having taken some lessons in Cali last year and just returned from a trip to the UK where we surfed Whitesands near St. Davids, Wales.  Want to keep it up in and near K-Town if possible so will keep checking this post for likeminded folks.  Once I get some gear (longboard, wet suit and boots) I'd be willing to try out all the places mentioned throughout the post.

I caught the surfing bug years ago in California and have since surfed in North Carolina and the Dominican Republic.  I just got back from San Diego where I bought a board, a very floaty 7'6" mini long board.  I'm looking for spots around kingston particularly around the Queen's area and surfing buddies so mickey, simon or whoeverelse, let me know if you're going out!

Very Cool, I envy you having a board here. I am just getting into surfing here and still need gear.  I know one of the guys noted earlier in the thread, Steve G, and I am going to track him down through mutual friends to pin point the best spots in and near K-Town.  Though I haven't tried it yet, the Patterson Park area is only about 3-4km from the campus along King St. It might be a good place for a start.  When I track down Steve and get more info, I will post it.
