Follow the crowd Bro! and to all the other whingers..about crowds.. your all years to late.. so now its just pick the right time of year and enjoy..Besides most of you wouldn't have handled more than a few days at most of the spots before development..so reality is put up or shut th f..k up!

Right on just got back from sumatra no crowds just good people and sick waves. If you go to top spots expect crowds search a little harder and get waves to yourself ?

Thanx for any info you guys may have -- I'll try not to kook up the place.

Well, I didn't want kids anyway, so ... Luckily I found some stuff with a friend in Singapore, including ding repair kit. Maybe I can get this bloke to help fix it - thanx for the info!

Seems this post was created a while back - with lots of bickering about this and that. All I'd like to say is that if you're an intermediate surfer, you'd like to have a decent place to hang out - pool, tv/dvd/ ping pong etc - with views of the wave right out the front - then go to Karang Nyimbor. I went there recently - and had a blast.

In the on season this place can get busy. but these days - most places are. Outside the on season - winds arent as good and the swell less consistent - but you can still score gold. I stayed with surfcampsumatra.com - its through Andy but the site is much better - lots of decent pics and a great map on there....

Gaz, I been reading what you and Sebastian have been going on about. Ialso read his other posts and can't believe what a negative wanker he is.

The locals who work in the western losmens get better than Indo wages and seem pretty happy with their deal.  I know that Ombak indah the staff get paid akk year round, guests or no guests, they get 2 bonuses each year, paid maternity leave,(6months) and several other perks including being paid when sick abd often when their kids are sick.  By the time running costs are covered along with maintainance and losses due to corruption the western owners don't really have huge profits to take hame.
