first check out the Visa because i dont think you can stay longer than a month on a tourist visa. Then you have to get a social visa which means that you have to visit a inhabitant (an invitation have to be sent to the embasy from whom ever your visiting) and then you have the working visa... but then you have to have a job, and i have not seen many white people working (because of the situation mentioned earlier) in indo.

do business with indonesians - go sell furniture and art, in the states or where ever the heck it is that you are living. That will make sure that you can go to indo frequently! Just a thought. Work at your dreams man! Especially if you are young!

Hilarious post. We Americans are ignorant, any American that says otherwise is clueless. Aussies, thanks for helping him out.
Bro, go ahead and try it. You might consider getting a job at place like Hard Rock Cafe here in the states. After 3 months you can transfer to another Hard Rock. If you have good skills, you maybe able to be switched to Hard Rock Bali. It's a shot in the dark, but it's a shot. Come up with an idea, and it will work out

Go young man. The whole of Indonesia is a wonderworld. Start in Bali , its a great base. Dont be scared off Java. The people are awesome , waves are uncrowded and perfect and it is cheap. Its super safe , remember we have travel warnings in Australia about New York. Remember your Malaria tabs if u are outside of Bali and a mossie net. Drink 1-2 lts of bottled water a day. Take sunscreen a rashie and a hat. Oh yeah , dont forget to take an open mind. I'm sure this will be the start of a life long love affair with Indonesia and Indonesians. A smile will open 1000 doors. RESPECT their culture both Hindu and Muslim. Good luck grommie , I will be with you in spirit. Oh yeah , dont surf a green board in Indo. Locals beleive it is bad luck.WHOAAAAAA
