what "slow" don't realize is that filipinos that grew up in the states are crazier than filipinos in the motherland (but Im sure there an exception). you call me chicken. I would tell you to come to the states but Im sure you can't. short story for you all to know... we (pinoy in the states) have to go against MEXICANS, BLACKS, WHITES and other race other there depending on where we grow up. now! Im from san diego localism is not that bad here but if some one acts crazy we put up our dukes! I've been to too many fights. I'm sure you won't be the last one.

Aloha and Mabuhay from Hawaii. What is the surf scene like on the Pacific coast on Mindanao from Mati to Baganga and more norht than that.
Are there waves?
Is it safe to travel there in relation to the situation with the NPA?
Are there comfortable places to stay in the Mati, Caraga, and Baganga areas.
Does the main road travel along the coast so that you can see waves and beaches?
Please respond to nvb@Hawaiian.net
Are there places to rent longboards along the coast

family and surf in April/May« Reply #7 on: April 04 2008 04:04:00 »
Hey, I'm trying to decide where to take my young family in the Philippines on vacation late April~early May.
I've never surfed before but I really want to try learning. Would now be a good time to come? Could I find a place to rent a board? Would my wife, baby, and two children (8&10) also have a good time at the beaches and surrounding area?
Thanks a lot. Oh yeah... would I be able to find someone to teach me a little (or lot) about surfing?

how is the surfing in the samal island areas out from davao just wondering how far is cloud 9 from davao.

samal waves not good for surfing, current too strong. Davao City around august good for beginners. watch out for debris and dirt coming from the city.
