So would you say that if yr going to Vietnam on holiday, don't bother bringing yr  board just get there and see what the swell is doing and if its any good, hiring a borad isn't too hard?

You can definitely rent surf boards here in Da Nang (see previous posts for info regarding Tam's Pub).  And that would certainly be an easier option than traveling around with a big fiberglass board to worry about.

hey. i'm presently in hue and thinking of dropping by china beach? anybody been there in last few days? curious about the swell on account of the typhoon and all... if i go will keep you abreast.

Hey all. Im coming to vietnam (hopefully Danang) in June to do 4 months of volunteer work with GVN.  Will there be any surf about in June/July?  And is there anyone who has travelled to Vietnam and brought their surfboard with them?  Did you have any trouble at all getting it into the country and travelling around with it? I dont have a long board or anything just a shortboard.  On a second note, is it hard to get work in teaching work in danang? Might decide to stay on for a little while after i finish the volunteer work?

HI - AM GOING TO DANANG IN MID FEB. FOR A FEW DAYS. IS THERE SURF THERE? CAN I HIRE A GOOD SHORT BOARD 6' 5". WHAT IS A GOOD RESORT RIGHT ON THE BEACH TO STAY 4 - 5 STAR? REGARDS.

spent a month in vietman last year and traveled almost the whole coast. only surf we found was an hour north of Na Trang, a small resort near a ship yard called Jungle Beach, 15$ a day room and board, no boards anywhere, must bring your own, if serious email me i can give you phone # for jungle beach
