QUT is not near the beach but you can surf on the Gold Coast which is about 45mins to an hour away. It is in Brisbane.
Griffith Uni is nowhere near the beach either.

Used to surf 10 ft Angourie by himself at night.
Cot into smack though alas.

The Sunny Coast is good,
not as consistent as the Goldie waves but it doesn't
matter cause crowds are heaps thinner & laid back.
The whole Kawana stretch
(Buddina to Wurtulla) gets glassy peaky beachies only
about 15min from the uni.

Does anyone know anything about "southern cross university" in tweed heads? How is this one?near to the ocean?? How is tweed heads?very small?how far to surfers paradise or byron bay?
I'm thinking to go there next year..thanks!!
