If you REALLY want to worry about something remember three things while you're paddling out sea snakes, sea snakes and more sea snakes. Seen 'em. Freaked but no bites. Just think of how cool it would be to die in something as dramatic as a shark attack- a form  o worship. I think in Hawaii it  might make you some kingd of Super Spirit. Don't sweat  it ............surender

i think we are much more apt to be struck by leftover debris falling from the nasa challenger explosion than we are being bit by a big fish!

I didn't see a post from you since your Feb. 2005 post.  So, either the test failed or you got punk'd by the sharks.  I was gonna go to Tamarindo, but if you are teasing the sharks in those waters, I'll pass to another beach.

Are you talking about the missing Ausie? The one who died in CR near Tamarindo?

you're more likely to die driving someplace.. The Ticos drive crazy but it's sooo fun. Any way don't worry about the sharks. Stay out of the river mouths to avoid crocs and the sea snakes wont bite you. If they do bite you try to fall to sleep because you will die. Most of all have fun and pura vida.

No, no sharks, no crocs.  dont believe these people.  I live here all my life and have never been eaten by anything.  Come swimming with me, I will show you all the nice spots.  Look at this one, nice lovely rivermouth, good current, clean water.  You do have to watch out for locals, they throw sticks at you.  It makes me so mad when I bite one of them and it's only a stick,  people are soooo tricky.  Hey, I can be tricky, too.  See you soon!

There are sharks all over the world. Bull sharks populate areas in Costa Rica. The chances of you being attacked are slim to none but there is a chance. If you are that scared don't go in the water. You have to be more careful of the rips. There are crocs but they are mostly up in the river mouth and they leave you alone. But my advice do not pet them. Just be smart. Driving is more dangerous.
