RE: Best Surfing around Mazatlan« on: May 07 2008 09:05:00 »
Hi-my husband and I are trying to plan a surf trip for August/September before we start a family. We're both intermediate surfers(although I'm not too hip on steep drops or constant duck diving). Would Mazatlan be a place to look at? My husband also wants to do some fishing. We're on a pretty tight budget so if anyone has suggestions on CHEAPO places to stay as well that'd be awesome! If you know of other places to go besides Mazatlan, please feel free to make suggestions! Muchas gracias! Please email me at: email@example.com

I planning a trip to Mazatlan with the family in January, but am a bit worried about the wave consistency. Can anyone help out with some tips about how the waves are in the winter when the swells are more from the north?

Place to stay? Stone Island....can recommend 3 great inexpensive and safe places. I know the people personally. Three minute boat ride to Mazatlan....24 hr ferry. Transportation from place to place La Pulmonia, open air taxis or great bus system is even cheaper. The places on Stone Island are @$50 and my friend Lynn....360-775-1052....is you stay longer in her casita on the beach may charge less. Another great place Is Stone Island Garderns with Gary and the restaurant by the hotel..Carmelitas. If you want new and modern and a pool Maria Coral...U tube it. These three are the nearest the ferry (boats).
