Hello I'm cedrik,I'm going to hongkong next week and I want to surf there first and later I want to go to Hainan.
I'm a Beginner I have only surf only A week and half(but I'm gifted) in Tofino Canada B.c.
Is surfing Honkong Worth it (big wave and shake O) or where?
After that, I'm going to see my friend in Kunming and go to The lijjian montain snow festival 456 oct.
I want to go to Hainan
Can I live on the beach (in a tent)
What the cheapest hostel there?
How much to rent a board?
Should I buy one beafore and where?
See you and tanks for your help
p.s.You can watch my profile on wannasurf (cedrik)

The best surf in Hainan is on the south side in Sanya. Can be a bit sharky, especially in the winter, as a Brit had his foot nearly taken off by a reef or tiger (don't really know the species). The breaks are fickled and need the proper wind and swell combination. Usually when it's good in Vietnam it will be good in Hainan. Really only works on the S. Swell. Good luck.

I'm an exchange student in Guangzhou and I would like to go surfing in Sanya for a week. Do you know if there's a surf school there and if it's possible to rent a surfboard?

replying to a few posts. IM living in Guangzhou, and have been on a 2 week trip to the phillipines and the surf was pumping. I have a 1 week holiday at the beginning of may and was thinking Hainan may have better waves??? than going back to somewhere in PI. Does anyone know what the waves are like during that time. Or is there anyone thinking of travelling there??? At this stage its a solo mission. Would love a surf buddy!
