I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on where to go in el Salvador for surfing. I was thinking of staying for 3 or 4 months and just living there and surfing everyday. I don't really want to travel around from beach to beach too much, just find one cool spot and settle for awhile. I'm a girl so I know it's not always the safest for me everywhere, but I was wondering if people who had been there knew of any cool chill surf beach towns that aren't too crazy dangerous. Thanks!

I'm heading to La Libertad with about 6 buddies for a week long surf trip. Planning on flying into San Salvador with minimal reservations, grabbing a shuttle to La Libertad and checking in for one or two nights at Punta Roco, then asking travelling surfers where we should head. Then depend on the local buses for transport. maybe head toward Sunzal.

yes! I surfed there in 1980 on our way back to the states from Costa Rica. I met Bob Rotherham. He seemed to have it dialed in. I remember Moma Rocka which is what the locals called the take off when it was big. I saw Eric Penny surf there the day the swell was hitting the bottom of the pier. Infact a week before the swell damaged the pier.Eric had an awsume bottom turn. I think he died years ago.
