easy there mate...hes probably talking about a weather chart or some buoy data some of which has been off latley...i've surfed all over the world and honestly in the last 4 months i've been in Ontario ive seen 3 very solid 5 foot + days yesterday in lake erie included, that were comparable to a lot of other places on the east coast especially...it doesnt get good often and keep that in mind and a lot of people do unintentionally exaggerate wave heights around here ,for lack of experience more than any other reason which is understandable...just watch the wind patterns of hurricane rita we could be in for an epic day in about a week or so IF the wind travels r way just like after katrina....fingers crossed...cheers and dont get so bent mate you need to know where to look

Why would you bother going all the way to Cali for 2 days? Wasteful. Just pick up the waves here then go when you've got more time. Cali's not great enough to go for only 2 days. go east.
it's fall. waves here are gonna get just as good.

...yeah...I was talking about buoy readings being 8' the other day...didn't actually get to see how that translates into "actual" wave height....but I do like the idea of measuring waves sideways...that would mean that I have surfed a number of what? 100 footers out in Lawrencetown, Maine, and Tofino...
...buoy readings for the lake are calling for 8-11' waves (measured vertically) for tomorrow/Saturday...this time I will be able to travel and check it out and see if that produces any surfable waves...
