For a local indian surfer im as far as it goes, i have lived my whole lie in india and have been surfing since i was 12, i want to make a surf trip to lakshadweep in the summer, when the waves are good, but since it is off season at that time there is not transport except for helicopter which is extremely expensive, if anyone would like to surf the most secluded surf spot in the world, no one has ever surfed it in the summer.......let me know and we can split the cost of the transport...

I'm actually in India, where after a trip to see the north i'm planning to go down around Kovalam to catch some waves. I red lot of info abour surfing in Chennai, so will go overthere and try to see how surf is going on. If someone knows some nice plans in this area (pondy, kovalam) that would be awesome to have advice or contacts from there. I decided not to bring my board because of the transport fee but I'm not sure that a brillant descision, it looks like India doesn't havelots of surf board to rent. Do you have anyway some contact or advice to give me to catch a boards somewhere?

I went to Mahabalipuram to surf. Some very nice wave, around 1m, perfect and tubes, 60-70 meters wave. From the 10 to the 15th of August.
Board are available to rent overthere. around 150 an hour. Possible to decrease the prices by bargaining.
I've also been to Repos Beach, in Auroville, Next to Pondy. I have not seen waves overthere but it looks like there is some wave also, a bit smaller than in Mahabalipuram.
I have also been to Rames Waram, but when ever there is waves, there is no boards to rent over there.
Good luck to every body.
