RE: Where is the best surf point on the east coast ?« on: February 20 2008 20:02:00 »
I grew up and learned to surf in Florida, I lived 3 years in Conn. right next to the Rhode Island boarder, I know live in VA. I've surfed most of the east coast of the US in my life. If you want to surf true point breaks on the east coast, then Rhode Island is the place. They have left points, right points, underwater points that make a perfect bowl. I've paddled out into 16 ft waves, without duck diving because of the channels. There is no place like it on the east coast. The only draw back are the winters are long and cold, but hurricane season is the beast.
