Description

Sombrio is a really cool surf spot but you have to watch for a good swell. Wait until the buoy readings are over 8 ft. Sometimes you'll drive out there and it will be to big to head out, when that happens just backtrack 30 minutes to Jordan River and you'll have a wicked day. Sombrio beach is a great place to camp but firewood can be scarce so you should pack your own in. Trust me on this one. There's nothing worse then trying to find damp driftwood to start a fire with in the dead of winter. You should also bring a tarp with you because the rain happens off and on out there. Most of the people I've met out there have been cool...granted there are some people who feel the need to verify there existence through being difficult, just ignore them though. It's always a good idea not to prove anything out there, just have fun and remember that nobody owns the waves. P.S. Please take your leftovers (beer cans, chip bags etc.) back out with you. thanks
