Description

Launching Pads usually breaks as a seperate peak about halfway along the point at G-Land. It is a very steep takeoff that can be very hard to get into- even on smaller days-take a longer, thicker board. It gets very shallow, with numerous world-class barrel sections. Fast and very powerful, jacking and pitching out of deep water onto very shallow reef. On some days it links up with previous sections. Probably best at 4 to 6 feet plus, but it can handle more, for experts. Best avoided at low tide. There are strong currents that change with the tide and size of swell. On high tide there are less currents, but there is always some sweep along the point. Good intermediates to experts only. The further you go down the point, the shallower the reef becomes. Low tide is too shallow for most people.
