Description

This is a reasonable left pointbreak (that is unpronouncable and unspellable) that breaks into a cove on the far west side of the peninsula from Lagundri Bay, (a long 2 hour walk through the jungle, or hire a boat). It peaks in front of the point on the outside and breaks fast, with the odd good barrel, over about the first 50-80m, before tapering off into pretty mellow walls and dying out in deep water, over about another 100m. Unlike many Indo waves, it finishes in a deep cove, so its pretty forgiving. Locals say it holds from 3-10 foot plus and I believe them (I only saw it at 2-5). They also say the earthquake has changed the wave "before always barrel, now not so much". Good for all levels, as the wave has different hollow and fatter sections. All in all, just another quality Indo left hander, but probably not world class, it may also section a bit. Very open to north and west winds, so best on south to east winds, and all tides. It's a little protected from south swells, so it will be smaller than Soraki Point at Lagundri Bay unless the swell is from the southwest, when it may even be bigger. Lower tides and stronger swells are probably the best bet, as the walls can be pretty mellow.
