Description

This wave is still semi-secret and unknown to most visitors. It´s location I can´t exactly say for fear of ruining it´s pristine condition. Lets just say it´s located somewhere between Greymouth, and Westport. The best conditions for this spot are low tide, 1M swell with a very light off shore. It is not uncommon to surf this wave with wild Hectors Dolphins which makes for a fantastic experience. Infact, there is lots of marine life here, including seals and the odd shark. Nothing to worry about though. This spot is VERY fickle, but if you study it properly, and keep your eye on the weather situation, you will eventually score the left hand perfection ! In over 5 years of knowing about this spot, I´ve only had it perfect twice. But believe me, this entire West Coast of the South Island has many other hidden jems like this.
