A few rocks in the shorebreak. Get off 200m before the jetty as the current is strong. 

Description

This wave usually breaks as a separate wave on the long Chicama point, (except on exceptional days above about 6 feet, when the whole Point can link up for about 2-3km). Takeoff from just north of the blue El Hombre hotel. Can be ridden for about 1km all the way to the jetty on the best days. Locals say they have surfed this wave at 10 to 12 feet, all the way through from the main point at Chicama to the jetty, it breaks very fast and hollow. Starts to work at 3 feet and up to 12 feet(say the locals), but doesn't really get going until the waves at Chicama hit 5 feet. There are a few rocks in the shorebreak, and if you do get a super long wave get off about 200m from the jetty as the current is strong. Worldclass when it works properly.
