Description

Kon Tiki is an offshore reef breaking about 1km offshore from Punta Hermosa town, for about 300m or so. It is a long paddle, with the wave breaking from about 5 to 12 feet. I'm told it doesn't hold more than this. It's a left mainly, with a fatter right. Usually no crowds because it is so far to paddle. Big sets break much further out so it is easy to get caught inside, watch out on a big day. This wave was also reportedly where a tsunami was surfed (accidently) in the 1960s.
