Breaks in South West swell in winter and can handle 4 - 6 foot. After that it tends to close out and the beach break normally fires with peaks breaking left and right on sand bottom.
Seal Point or Seals as commonly referred to is a right hander that can break from the outside all the way to the inside a distance of 400metres. I have seen surfers lose fins, break boards on this rock called full stop which on high tides has to be negotiated over. At 8" plus, Seals often gets referred to as a washing machine. The rip gets hectic and paddling is extremly exhausting. Waves start breaking in the bay which is impressive with the blinders going off. To get into the water walk to the right where one can jump off the rocks and from there paddle to the outside and catch a wave to the inside where the wave gets more consistent. Paddling in can be done over the rocks or down at the beach break.
