There are many cool spots around here, but nobody reckons Strand is a great spot. Strand is basically a city by the beach at the centre of False Bay, with mountains on one side and the Peninsula w Cape Town on the other side.
It was the closest beach to my flat when I studied in Stellenbosch, but I had some great waves there. It can be flat at times, but when there is swell in False Bay, go to Strand. Swimmers can be annoying here, but there aren't too many other surfers around most of the time. I am just a beginner, but many surfers I met agreed the surf here is underrated.
