I've only surfed it when there was practically no swell at all but since it's so shallow it still produces rideable (though tiny) waves. It's popular with the local bodyboarders. If K-16 isn't working but there's still a couple of guys out, then this place is a short drive north and there's good chance it's empty.
Again, it's really shallow, but the reef isn't sharp or really dangerous, just don't bail head first. At a small swell it only works on high tide....at low tide it breaks on dry reef and rocks. Don't know how it would be if the swell came in, but my guess is that it good hold fair size, maybe 4-5ft. Still only hight tide though.
