This spot goes off - you need a short interval direct west swell for it to really work. Dont fear though - any type of west for north west will work it will be more inconsistent on a north west though, big stormy west = Magic, very shallow so when the waves come through they just tube for ever, only 1 take off spot so it gets gnarly crowded but when you get one, forget about it, just dont blow the take-off, snapped boards are the norm when its on, so shallow I cant even explain it, if its waist to chest high, it will only be 1 foot deep, but so fun, anyway, if you want to check it, drive out to the end of santa barbara pier, and look to the right, youll see the point peeling into the harbor, anytime its stormy go check this place it can be unreal, my uncle lived near kirra for many years in the 80's and said this is the only spot he's ever surfed that is true kirra fashion. have a blast on this wave, watch out for locals like Chris Brown who think they own it, or have a good time wathcing dan malloy kill it, then try to get one and realize what cyindrical means.
