the town cuts an opening into the ocean to let the really bad pond water out and new fresh ocean water in. the cycles between high and low tides pull sand in and out of the pond untill it builds up a sand bar in front of the opening that makes a ledgey hollow fast wave. the town cuts it out like once a year and the sand bar will keep rising untill its beach again. then the town waits untill the pond water is nasty again and they start the process all over again. so the sandbar only makes a good hollow wave for like a couple of months. b4 the sand bar is good the wave is too soft and if the sand bar is too high its like surfing directly onto dry sand.
