A right hand reef break breaking over coral.

Well, Nias is known world wide. The outside reef offers a great right hander, can get really big. This wave seems to come aut of nowhere, it builds up quite fast, so take a good look outside. On small days the inside right hander is great. You can get a long ride, wave size about 3-6 ft. and lots of fun. Both waves can get very crowded, so get up early and you can have great lonely sessions. It is really sad that the local population is very unfriendly and tends to rip every foreigner off. This can get annoying. So if you don't surf: Don't go to Nias because those guys will annoy the shit out of you all day long. But if you go: Great nature, exrelemly cheap costs of living and waves, waves, waves. ENJOY!
