Surf trip Indo.. but where to go?

I will be going on a solo surf trip to Indo this summer. I have done some research, but i am still looking for that one perfect spot that suits my abilities. What am i looking for:

- My level would something like past-beginner/ early intermediate. I have some experience in bigger waves, but i prefer the range of 6-10 foot.
- I am not comfortable with shallow / sharp reefs
- I prefer right handers
- As i will be traveling in and around Idul Fitri, I would rather avoid the biggest crowds

Any help would be most welcome!

RE: Surf trip Indo.. but where to go?

Just about everywhere in Indo is shallow sharp reefs and getting anywhere during Idul Fitri is busy as its like christmas in the west people on holidays or go home from citys to see there families.

Cimija- Easy fun right handers, reef but not coral its cobble stones and not shallow.

Nias (sorake)- over reef, but its not shallow.

Batu karus- very mellow right sand pt.

RE: Surf trip Indo.. but where to go?

Java cove would suit you. @Mick is completely incorrect that Indo is all sharp, shallow reef. Burgerworld, Nipussi in Ments are neither. Both are rights. Burger is a rolling right, Nipussi rolls on the peak then throws. Given your stated ability, Java cove would be best. Cheaper, too.

@mick - brah, sorry, just re-read your post and you said MOST not ALL. The best breaks are usually sharp, shallow or both... but not always... I didn't think Rifles and Bankvaults were the times I've been there.

Thanks for the help!

Cimaja and Batu Keras will definitly be on my list. Just looking now for a place to lay low during Idul Fitri, as i reckon Java will be very crowded this week. Preferably with a fun righthander on my doorstep :) I might want to check out Dylans (Simuelue) or Sorake (Nias). What about Jenny's right or Mandiri in Krui region?
