I heard that there is good surf on Tanna Island and have seen pictures of waves in the backgrounds of Bungalows websites. Has any surfed there and what will the wind and swell be like in April. thanks

there is good waves up near port resolution on the east coast.(apparenently) check out the island on google earth, you can see the white water triangles from above. dunno about access though, but you may be well rewarded. se trades are onshore, but winds are a bit lighter and more variable this time of year. its a massive punt going over there, ive thought about it but just hung on efate. you need plenty of time if your going to look at tanna

Got back from Tanna. Had a great time, definitely recommend going over there. I spent 9 days on Tanna (April 2006) and surfed everyday from 2 ft peelers to scary bowling 8ft. Also photographed 12ft peaks coming in and marching down a big headland. I didn't see another surfer but the local kids were keen to watch. Surfed 10 different waves, all shallow reefbreaks and always off shore. Plus there is beachbreaks where the locals take the odd tourist. Have put info on globalsurfers about waves at Port Resolution in Tanna, but there are plenty more.

I am going to Vanuatu in August and spending 4 days at Tanna late August. Do you have any info or pics.
